Dictionaries

Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary is a students' dictionary based on British English, which you'll find easy to use. Dictionary.com is an American dictionary. The Oxford English Dictionary calls itself "The definitive record of the English language", but probably the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary is easier to use. Oxford also have an interesting site about the English Language here.

Another very useful dictionary is The Longman Web Dictionary.

OneLook is an online dctionary that searchs 971 seperate dictionaries...
